FAQ -- Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping

International Shipping

  • Q: Do you ship to [name of country]? How much does the shipping cost?
A: Please see the International Shipping page

APO/FPO

  • Q: Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses? Should I select "international" or "US" shipping for an APO/FPO address?
A: We normally ship via USPS. They do deliver to APO/FPO addresses, and the postage costs are comparable to domestic mail -- so we charge accordingly, and you should choose "US" shipping. (See the USPS web site for more information.)

Delivery

  • Q: Where are my shirts? I ordered them two weeks ago, and they haven't arrived.
A: Items which are not in stock will need to be ordered from a supplier. Since most of our suppliers have minimum order requirements, we have to make a choice between (a) waiting until we have enough customer orders for their items to make up a minimum, or (b) ordering extra items for stock, taking a chance that they will sell. Items which remain in stock for a long time represent capital which is unavailable for use, which can in turn slow down our ordering schedule or cause other problems, so we try to avoid doing this. We will often make exceptions if we know an item is needed by a certain date. We also will order discontinued items we like, when possible, so that we may continue to carry them even when they are no longer available from the manufacturer. (Some related information is in our shipping policies.)

That doesn't answer the question, though. The answer is that it's probably on order, or soon to be ordered, from the supplier. If you need it sooner, or you want some idea of when it is likely to arrive, please email us and we'll look it up. (We are working on a more automated system for managing orders online, so eventually this won't be necessary.)

Printed Catalog

  • Q: Do you have a printed catalog you can send me? Someone I know likes your products but doesn't have easy access to the Internet.
A: We don't currently have a printed catalog, though we certainly do get requests for one and it is something we will be looking into when we have the resources. For the time being, we can send a price list with pictures at no charge, but it helps if you can tell us which items are of interest to you so we don't waste paper and ink (and printing time and postage) on a lot of items that you wouldn't want. For example:
  • Nature items (shirts, caps, cards)
  • Americana/Nostalgia items (shirts)
  • Rock 'n' Roll items (shirts, caps & accessories)
  • Fantasy items (shirts, mousepads, cards, posters)
  • Biker / Skulls shirts, caps

Merchandise

  • Q: Here are my measurements; what size t-shirt should I buy? How do shirt sizes compare from one manufacturer to another?
A: See the shirt size comparison chart

Discounts & Wholesale

  • Q: Are your products available at wholesale prices?
A: Short answer: yes, but not from us.
Exception: items which we have in stock and which are still available from the manufacturer. We may be willing to sell these at or near wholesale, in quantity, in order to free up capital. Please contact us if you are interested.
Longer answer: We buy our products at wholesale prices from our suppliers, and obviously we have to mark the prices up in order to make a profit and stay in business. For larger orders, you might want to deal directly with the supplier of that item:
  • Find an item you like
  • Go to that item's page (if you aren't already there) - where the "Add to Cart" button is
  • Look at the top left of the page. Under "Home" you will see "Title:" and under that you will see "Supplier:". To the right of that is the name of the supplier.
  • If you click on the supplier's name, the next page you see should have the supplier's name at top left. Under that you will see "Home", then "Supplier:" and the supplier's name again, then under that there may be "Web Site:" followed by a web address link.
  • If there is no web address, email us and ask for that supplier's contact information.
  • Otherwise, click on the web address link.
  • This brings up the "Vendor Link" page. Click on the link for the vendor's web site, and you will at last be taken there. You should be able to find full contact information there.

Payment

see also Payment Policies

  • Q: I need to send you a new credit card number. How can I do this securely?
A: See this page: How to update payment information
  • Q: Is your site secure? I don't see the security symbol in my browser, and I'm concerned about giving out my credit card number over an insecure connection.
A: The pages where you actually check out – where you enter your shipping and payment information – are secure, i.e. they use the https: protocol for communication. The vbz.net domain has its own site certificate, and we do not depend on any third party web sites for handling the check-out process.
Since https is a somewhat slower protocol than http, however, we use http for all regular catalog pages in order to keep page-loading times to a minimum.
  • Q: Do you accept PayPal?
A: Yes! To use PayPal: When you are checking out and get to the "Payment Information" form, click on the "check or money order" link. This will load a different version of the "Payment Information" form which lets you enter a check number. Instead of a check number, just enter "PayPal" and be sure to fill in your PayPal email address, i.e. an email address you have registered with PayPal, in the "Email:" space. (If you would like order correspondence to use a different email address from your PayPal email address, then enter your correspondence email address in the "Email:" space and put your PayPal email address after "PayPal" in the "check number" space.)

Designs & Making Shirts

  • Q: I really like your designs! Where do you have them made? I have some designs I would like to make into t-shirts, but I have not been satisfied with the quality of the places I have tried.
A: This is a simple question with a longish answer; read more about screenprinting.
